TOPIC: Hello from London, UK

Hello from London, UK 2 months 4 weeks ago #10209

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to say a quick hello. I've been considering buying a carbon tt frame from Deng fu and stumbled across this website a couple of days ago. It's amazing the amount of info on here, and some of the builds look incredible. It's certainly eased my concerns about ordering a frame from China, and I hadn't even considered buying wheels from overseas but after reading some positive reviews I'm now seriously considering it.

Thanks,
Henry

Hi Sean,
I got the 38 Alu/carbon with DT swiss hub.
Great wheels so far. They spin and climb well, but I have not done many miles yet.
for pictures look at my thread for FM066 build project:

1460 gr without skewers.

Thanks Marco, I've just been reading the thread of your build. That looks a nice bike, especially with the new carbon wheels. A few months on I assume you're happy with the quality of the frame? Did you have much communication with DengFu after placing the order?

Nice to see your excel spreadsheet listing all your parts. Was the tax you paid just the standard HMRC import tax?

I think I'm going to bite the bullet and order a frame (FM018) and set of wheels. Then I guess I'll have 6 - 8 weeks to order the various components I'll need.

Thanks
Henry

yes standard VAT + 4% + the post office charges 18 pounds handling fee ( or thereabout)
The total was just under 50 pounds for the frame and about the same for the wheels.
Communication with Far Sports was excellent , but I was in China at the time...
with Dengfu a little slower but still good ( about 20 messages in all)
My only problem in the build was to get XTR gear changer to operate properly with dura ace shifters. I wanted a 11 32 cassette. Next time I will go SRAM

Direct Carbon Frames from China

You are here because you love to ride, love a great deal and aren't afraid to get your hands dirty.  This site is here for the same reason.  We built our own bikes from carbon fiber frames purchased from mainland Chinese manufacturers.  We read many forums, listened to sound advice, rolled our sleeves up and got to work.  The result is a lot of fun and we continue to build more bikes.  This site is the same. IT DEPENDS ON YOU.  What categories would you like to see?  What other content?  You speak we listen and then get to work making this the one stop for everything necessary to build your own bike from the frame up.  Let's have some fun.
